CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Our purpose is to secure our member’s future, but our commitment to creating a sustainable future and a better tomorrow for the communities we touch through our investment projects, our fundraising and our development programmes extends far beyond our members alone

Protecting our planet

We are committed to doing our bit to protect the planet for future generations and have recently laid out our plans to become Carbon Neutral by 2050 or sooner. You can find out more about this commitment here and see how we incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into the portfolios we manage on behalf of our beneficiaries on the following pages.

Supporting our communities

We’re committed to making a positive impact wherever we can in the community and we do this through a mix of fundraising, nationwide volunteering and support for charities local to our offices.

To date, our people have shared their skill and knowledge with more than 1200 students from across the country, educating them in the importance of financial planning and pensions.

In Darlington, our people have helped us to support St Therese’s Hospice for more than a decade through a range of fundraising activities. Raffles, garden parties, casual clothes day donations and a sponsored head shave are some of the many things we have done to help raise money for the hospice, which provides a vital service in the local community.

Supporting our People

We recognise the importance of creating a workplace where colleagues are given the support they need to thrive. We offer Mental Health & Wellbeing support, learning and development opportunities and an industry-leading parenthood package to support working families.

We are also working hard to create a culture where everyone feels like they can bring their true selves to work. This work is being spearheaded by our recently established Inclusion & Diversity Council.

We take part in two social mobility programmes, which aim to help young people from backgrounds currently underrepresented within the Financial Services Industry, establish a career. The programmes are;

    • 100 Black Interns: Offering paid internships to Graduates through the programme which seeks to tackle underrepresentation of the Black community within Investment Management
    • upReach: Offering paid internships to students taking part in the upReach programme which seeks to help Undergraduates from less advantaged backgrounds secure top graduate jobs
