Railpen wins European Pension Fund of the Year at European Pensions Awards 2022
Last night, European Pensions announced the winners of this year’s awards at a central London gala. Amongst the evening’s winners from pension schemes, consultancies and providers across Europe, Railpen – which is responsible for managing £37 billion, including the railways pension scheme – claimed the European Pension Fund of the Year award.
Pension provision across Europe has never been more challenging with increasing longevity and unpredictable markets. The accolade was awarded in recognition of Railpen’s innovative approach to risk management, governance, ESG integration and member engagement to tackle the various challenges schemes face today, and over the long-term.
Mads Gosvig, Chief Fiduciary Officer, said: "At Railpen, we are driven by our purpose to secure members' future, and improve the world they retire into. We are proud to have won such an esteemed award which recognises our people's expertise and passion to develop new best practices to improve member outcomes.”
John Chilman, Chief Executive, said: “Railpen has a rich heritage of innovation, anticipating or responding to changes within the scheme and the world around us, and managing that change for our members and employers. We continue to be a thought-leader - leading, collaborating and supporting the global industry to improve outcomes for all pension scheme members.”
